Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab has been chosen as the main beneficiary of proceeds from this year’s Run Stuff Evesham Vale 10k Run, which takes place on Sunday 12th July 2015.

This will be the 8th time the 10k run has taken place. It really is a prestigious event, with runners coming from around the country, as well as a very strong local presence. Last year the organisers were delighted to be able to present a cheque for £3,000 to the Evesham Abbey Bell Tower Appeal. In selecting Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab this year, Jill Moore, member of Evesham Vale Running Club and this year’s Race Director, said “We are delighted to be able to support another local charity, and particularly one which links exercise and fitness.”

To enter our very friendly 10K race please visit Evesham Vale Running Club Website www.eveshamvalerunningclub.org.uk (Evesham Vale 10K) entries can be made on line at Run Britain or print out an entry form, limited entries on the day will also be available. We are also pleased again this year to offer a fun run and 1 mile race for children aged 14 and under.

Cllr Gerry O’Donnell, the vision behind Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab said that the support from the 10k Run would be a hugely welcome boost to their fundraising. “Unfortunately my running days are over – my knees won’t take it any more – but the 10k Run is a great event for the town, and will give us an opportunity to highlight the important work that we are doing. Essentially cardiac rehabilitation helps patients with heart disease lead more productive and enjoyable lives. Supervised exercise is a hugely important part of our work.”

Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab aims to support those who have suffered a heart attack, or undergone heart surgery. Since it started in 2008, it has benefitted a considerable number of people living in Evesham and the Vale. To find out more, visit our website (www.eveshamcardiacrehab.co.uk).
